I prepared the PCB and posted it out to Dave who sent it up under a 1600g Hwoyee with a slowish ascent rate. The plan was for a float but the balloon unfortunately burst rather than entered into a float.<\/p>\n<p>It did however make it to France (just) :<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/ava-06042013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-510\" alt=\"ava-06042013\" src=\"\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/ava-06042013-1024x617.jpg\" width=\"620\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/ava-06042013-1024x617.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/ava-06042013-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/ava-06042013.jpg 1688w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>it appeared the parachute tangled badly and it &#8220;landed&#8221; in a field at 15.9m\/s (44mph) :<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_0883.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-511\" alt=\"IMG_0883\" src=\"\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_0883-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_0883-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ava.upuaut.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/IMG_0883-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a>The impact although significant (it broke the battery off the board and bent the ICSP connector in the process) the transmitter continued operating.
